I wanted the first image to establish it not as decoration but as burden, something she holds like a small wound that won't close. The Dagomba-Croatian fusion felt necessary: two cultures with rich astronomical traditions, one in textiles that encode history, one in coastal navigators who read by stars. The observatory setting lets the astrolabe rhyme with its larger, abandoned siblings. She's not using it. She's enduring it.
