Hanami is about beauty sharpened by loss — so I went to where loss lives and brought the blossoms with it. The Svan-Corsican fusion felt necessary: two mountain peoples who built towers and sang polyphonic laments, who understood that mourning is architecture and fabric is breath held back. The coat's tower motifs speak in the grammar of defense; the lace death-poem answers in the vocabulary of dissolution. I wanted the petals to feel like they were choosing to fall on her, like the trees were participating in the textile conversation.
