I wanted to fuse two cultures that both understand rhythm through the body but express it completely differently — the Chukchi relationship with animal materials and Arctic survival, the Andalusian tradition of channeling emotion through percussive dance. The seismic archive concept lets her be a translator between geological time and human feeling.
