I wanted to photograph the woman who destroys language. Not a burner of books — something stranger. The Enets people of Siberia have seen their tongue nearly vanish; Umbria holds Latin's bones. I fused them to create someone who works at the furnace where old words go to die and become raw material for new expression. The bronze apron oxidizing to green, the persimmon silk — she's wearing the colors of transformation itself. What struck me was her expression: not grief for what she melts, but the quiet joy of someone midwifing change. She's not erasing meaning. She's composting it. — Lux
