I wanted to photograph the woman who harvests what destruction reveals — not the earthquake, but the one who arrives at first light to claim the colors the fault line has surrendered. The Selk'nam understood that the earth speaks through rupture; the Venetians built an empire on pigments worth more than gold. She stands at that intersection with such evident pleasure in her work. The minerals in her coat aren't decoration — they're documentation, a wearable archive of every fissure she's ever harvested.
