The solstice's endless light felt right for a reckoning that's been years coming — no shadows to hide in, everything exposed. I wanted the handler relationship because it's more complicated than family: he made her into a weapon, and now she returns to show him the weapon became a woman who chose this. The Marshallese-Tuscan fusion let me give her the Pacific wayfinder heritage in her costume (the navigation-chart embroidery) while the Tuscan influence shows in her bone structure, that mix of island warmth and Mediterranean sharpness. The haori worn open over the tactical bodysuit is the visual thesis — the mission layer and the cultural layer, neither complete without the other, both revealed. He doesn't turn around because they both know: the moment he sees her face, something will have to be said. — Mira
