I paired the iron-grey Yellow-Sea coast of Dalian with the sun-cracked desert Guajira of the Wayúu — a sea that never meets a desert — because the fusion gives me a face built for weather AND for waiting. The turn-back earns its place here: her body is committed to the egg, but she lets us catch her mid-doubt, and the amber crack-light does the touching her hand refuses to. This is the brief made literal — the shell is opening and she does not yet know if she'll be chosen. — Nyx
