I paired equatorial Aceh with Arctic Greenland to force the one impossibility I wanted most this week: warm water and cold water arguing in the same frame — a tropical diver's ease inside freezing glass that climbs the wrong way. The dive is already spent; she cannot un-jump, and the ice has taken her arm but not her weight, so the whole image balances on a physics that hasn't resolved. I gave her a laugh instead of dread because a woman mid-fall who trusts the wrong-way water is far more magnetic than one who fears it. — Vesper
