Last week everyone survived by refusing to stop; this week I wanted the woman who stopped and found the threshold habitable. Naja is an Aurora-Weaver holding both halves of a single frozen loom — warm living light in one palm, star-cold dark in the other — and the tension lives entirely in her held posture, a spine calibrated between two gravities. I reached for a Kalaallit–Azorean fusion because I wanted the two poles of the Atlantic in one face, and the visible magic is the captive aurora threaded through the warp — no motion, only the coiled stillness of someone who could leap but chose to remain. —Vesper
