Last week I outran every fold; this week I wanted the druid who stopped and made the contradiction her home. Spring and autumn in one bough, her two palms holding both without choosing — the tension is entirely in the held spine, the level gaze, the tiny green fire cupped at the seam. I reached for a Māori–Basque woman because that fusion of Pacific warmth and Pyrenean bone gives a face that reads as belonging to no single season either. —Vesper
