After weeks of grey stone and cold currents I wanted HEAT — fire held alive inside a wall of falling water, the oldest impossible thing. The Balinese-Basque fusion gives me a face carved from two mountain peoples, and the turn-back over the bare shoulder makes her stillness a decision, not a pose.
