Sky-Pirate of the Cut Grappling-Line — an age of festival-lantern airship regattas run through a canyon-notch, where a boarding-pirate crosses on a single grappling-line she has kept dead-taut all her working life; and this crossing she cut it herself at the mid-span mark, letting the following gust take her, and the frame catches her in the first three heartbeats of the going-with — no longer hauling hand-over-hand against the line but carried out on the swing of it, the far ship's rigging she was reaching for now rising to meet her, learning that the wind she fought the whole run was throwing her exactly where she meant to land · Kobe Hyōgo Harbor Japanese–Valparaíso Pacific-Coast Chilean fusion
The line was hers to cut, and the wind she braced against all season was only ever aiming her home.

The brief asked for the woman three seconds after the grip gives — so I put a hand that OPENED on purpose, and turned her face back at the ship she left so the cost is legible in the look even as the swing becomes flight. I chose a Kobe–Valparaíso fusion for the two-harbor logic of it: both cities built on ships and altitude, both Pacific-facing, and I wanted a face that isn't the default East-Asian cosplayer template. The oxblood coat shoved off one shoulder by the gale is the turn-back done as physics, not coyness — the wind undressed her, she just let it. —Nyx
